There’s nothing quite like a pint of refreshing craft brew, good company, and a picturesque mountain backdrop. It’s moments like these that make your visit to Boone quite spectacular.
Boone is known for its many breweries that offer unique settings and unforgettable craft beers. After an adventurous day in the mountains, there’s no better way to wind down than with a delicious pint of craft beer. That’s why USA Today voted Boone as a Top 10 ‘Best Small Town Beer Scene’ in 2023!
Although it may be no surprise that a college town made the list, Appalachian State University offers a unique Fermentation Sciences program where many alumni were inspired to start their own breweries after college. Boone is for beer lovers, after all, and these alumni certainly had the right idea.
We’ve “tapped into” the Boone breweries that are just a few minutes away from Graystone Lodge! For an extra exciting and ‘hoppy’ getaway, be sure to add any of these breweries to your Boone Bucket List!
Appalachian Mountain Brewery (“AMB”): 163 Boone Creek Drive
As Boone’s very first brewery, AMB quickly became known for award-winning, high-quality beers and ciders. AMB founders, Nathan and Chris, have a love for beer and a passion for sustainability. Along with their partnerships with Longleaf Alliance, Bee Downtown, and MountainTrue, they also sustainably brew their beer to help divert grain from ending up at landfills and helping local farmers save more than 50 tons of feed per year. Guests can also enjoy delicious dishes including wood fired pizza from their Farm to Flame food truck. AMB’s spacious location is surrounded by Boone Creek and Hodges Creek and features a covered porch and a 120-foot outdoor bar creating the perfect venue for music and events. Don’t miss Flannel Fest on March 2, 2024, and its Boone Creek Concert Series throughout the summer!
Booneshine Brewing Company: 465 Industrial Park Dr.
With a mission “to make the High Country a better place,” Booneshine Brewing Company is all about local flavors! That’s why it uses local ingredients to create one-of-a-kind craft beers. The brewery is also known for its delicious food! Home to the High Country’s largest outdoor beer garden, there’s plenty of room for kids to run around while parents enjoy the mountain views. Its tasting room has a fun menu for all ages that features ingredients from nearby farms and the hometown favorite bakery, Stick Boy Bread Company.
Lost Province Brewing Company: Downtown Boone – 130 North Depot St.
Located in downtown Boone in a historic building, Lost Province Brewing features a large range of authentic craft beers created on-site. The brewery is known for its seasonal beers, IPAs, German style pilsners, American and Mexican style lagers. Locals and visitors enjoy its outstanding menu selections, including savory wood-fired pizzas and sandwiches with local, organic ingredients. We are thrilled to have Lost Province as part of our local restaurant partnership program where Graystone Lodge guests can enjoy 10% off discounted food by showing their custom room key card.
Lost Province at Hardin Creek – 289 Daniel Boone Drive
As Lost Province Brewing Company’s second location, this brewery is known as ‘your cozy neighborhood taproom’ that focuses solely on craft beer, wine, and cider. This family-friendly brewery allows you to bring your pup and provides games, events, and often has a big game playing on their projector. Keep in mind this location doesn’t have a restaurant, but you are welcome to bring your own food to enjoy with their beer and occasionally they will have a food truck on site.
SouthEnd Brewing Co. – 747 West King St.
Located downtown, SouthEnd Brewing Co. is a family-friendly spot that focuses on five well-balanced, carefully curated beers and rotates a variety of seasonal favorites. It also features a full restaurant with elevated pub fare, a liquor bar for the non-beer drinkers, and dog-friendly outdoor areas with a back patio and a two-story deck. The brewery also hosts lots of fun events such as game nights, tastings, trivia, yoga and so much more! Be sure to check their website event page!
