Building Sweet Futures Supports Local Children and Families

The gingerbread houses are certainly the stars of the show, but the heart behind this event is even sweeter.

The competition benefits the Children’s Council of Watauga County, a local nonprofit dedicated to supporting young children, parents, caregivers, and early childhood educators throughout the community.

The organization operates 17 programs that help families during the earliest and most important years of a child’s life.

These programs include parenting classes, family support groups, one-on-one parent coaching, a diaper bank, and professional development opportunities for early childhood educators.

By participating in the competition, sponsoring the event, or helping spread the word, community members can support services that make a meaningful difference for local families throughout the year.

It’s a reminder that some of the best holiday traditions are the ones that bring people together for a good cause.
